Technology to the rescue once again. This time, a woman made a false accusation pf sexual assault after she was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Victoria Bobtail Bear, who lives in McLaughlin, South Dakota was in Bismarck, North Dakota and had been arrested for disorderly conduct. Apparently in an attempt to avoid responsibility for the disorderly conduct charge, she claimed that she was sexually assaulted during the ride back to the Standing Rock Indian Reservation,
The only problem was that the officer had his lapel camera recording for the whole trip, which proved her lie.
The U.S. attorney for North Dakota, Timothy Purdon, says that Victoria has pleaded guilty to giving a false statement. She will be sentenced on October 20th, and faces a fine of up to $250,000 and five years in prison.
